Our test of a longer stay offgrid in the wilderness of North Vancouver Island had mixed results. We were able to establish a more permanent base in our motorhome but its age has started to show.
The awning anchor points have rotted through, and it became unsafe to drive with the awning attached.
As if that was not enough, we found a serious leak in the front bunk window.
Can we survive these setbacks?
Being close to Quatsino Sound, we are often reminded of the survival TV show ALONE, and how relatively comfortable our remote offgridlife in the rainforest is.
